The advisor
behind TokyoExpat.

Yasuhiro Maruyama built this service because he saw the problem firsthand — working inside foreign companies in Japan, watching colleagues navigate relocations with no real support.

Why I built this
創業のきっかけ

I've spent my career working inside Japan's foreign company ecosystem — at a global real estate private equity fund, and later as Executive Officer at a foreign SaaS company. Along the way, I watched international colleagues go through the Tokyo relocation process with no real guidance.

I personally designed and implemented a corporate housing program at my SaaS company. I supported two expat colleagues through their high-end relocations — from property search to lease signing to post-departure tax representative arrangements. I saw how much better the experience could be with someone who genuinely understood both sides: the company's policies and the individual's needs.

That's why I founded Edo Partners and built TokyoExpat. Not as a traditional agent, but as someone who has sat on your side of the table.

My commitment

"I work for you — not for landlords or developers. My job is to get you the right property at the right price. As a USCPA and FP&A professional, I also bring financial and tax fluency that no standard real estate agent can offer."
